We can provide you with convenient appointment times either in person or virtually weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Some clinicians also provide virtual appointments after hours and on the weekend.
If you are in a urgent situation, we can usually set you up with an initial appointment within one business day.
What to Expect When You Make Contact
We understand that the initial contact for service is often made at a very difficult time for you. Our experienced Reception and Clinical Coordinators will assist you in finding the right clinician to meet your needs.
We offer assessment, psychotherapy and counselling services with clinicians who have a wide variety of qualifications, backgrounds and experiences and who have different therapeutic orientations. We will discuss our service options with you and do our best to accommodate you in terms of type of clinician, mode of service, and scheduling.
Our Reception will also be able to provide you with information regarding your insurance coverage for services.
Fees and Financial Coverage
Our clinicians are in private practices and charge service fees based on the type of service provided.
Employers today recognize the importance of the mental and physical health of employees. Most Employer organizations now provide benefit packages which include immediate short-term Employee Assistance Programs and Extended Health Care benefits, which include confidential psychological and clinical services. If you are unsure of your health care coverage our Reception can assist you in obtaining this information.
Our Psychotherapy services are not covered by OHIP but are fully or partially covered by private health insurance. Funding for qualified psychotherapy clients are covered by their EAP, Private Insurance, WSIB, Health Canada, Veteran’s Affairs, Jordan’s Principle, Victim Quick Response Program, or may be funded by a local health or social service agency. Clients may also pay for services directly.
Psychological and Behavioural Assessments are fully or partially covered by private health insurance, and local health, education and social service agencies.
Does your employer provide an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
Most organizations today provide short-term Employee Assistance Programs ranging between three and twelve sessions. Your HR department can assist you with information on how to contact your Employee Assistance Program.
If you are an employee with an Employer which directly contracts with Quinte Counselling Services to provide EAP services, contact our Reception to set up an initial appointment with an experienced psychotherapist.
What is covered by your Extended Health Care Plan?
Extended Health Care Plans fully or partially cover assessment and therapy services provided by a Registered Psychologist, Psychological Associate, Psychotherapist, Behavioural Analyst, Social Worker or Chiropractor. Extended Health Care Plans vary considerably so it is important to check the specific benefits provided by your Plan.
It is best to contact the personnel department of your Employer or your benefit plan directly to obtain the following information:
- What services are covered?
- What percentage of the service fee does the plan cover?
- Is there an annual upper limit for that coverage?
- How many sessions are covered by the plan?
- Is the Plan limited to certain types of clinicians?
We will assist you to obtain the above information, when necessary.
Funding for Autism and Behavioural Services
Extended Health Care Plans will fully or partially cover Autism and Behavioural assessment services provided by a Registered Psychologist or Behaviour Analyst. Extended Health Care Plans will also fully or partially cover the cost of Psychotherapy Services.
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services are funded under the Ontario Autism Program for clients up to 18 years of age with a diagnosis of Autism, or with funding provided by Jordan’s Principle or by a health or social service organization. Services can also be funded privately.
Funding options for the provision of Autism and Behavioural Services can be quite complex so our Clinical Coordinator can help you understand the options that may be available to you.
