Alena Tiberia, RSSW

Alena Tiberia received her Bachelor of Art’s Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, with a focus on Human Geography. It was after she graduated that she became part of a non-profit organization, focusing on assisting youth across the Greater Toronto Area to find a passion in the environment and their impact.

In September of 2014, Alena pursued a career in working with at-risk youth and adolescents, by developing a variety of educational and motivational programming. Programming was designed to instill confidence, esteem and after school support to individuals struggling with family concerns, anxiety, bullying and anger management.

It was during this time, Alena graduated from Seneca College, obtaining high honours with a diploma in Social Service Work and is registered with the Ontario of Collage of Social Worker and Social Service Workers.

Her areas of professional practice focus on meeting specific needs of children, adolescents, adults and families. Her variety of therapeutic approaches include the use of, Emotion Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. It is her professional goal to provide individuals with the self-determination and skills they need, to positively problem solve, successfully manage positive change and increase awareness on coping techniques, dealing with anxiety, depression, anger management and different learning disabilities.

Through working with children and youth, Alena has developed a group program designed to provide young teenagers the skills they need, to help guide them through different life challenges and everyday situations. Each activity has been built, to ensure the proper guidance and tools can be used, individually both at home and within the school environment.
